Well I think we can call this the soggy bottom range trip,
It was an excellent range session with great guys though it did rain pretty much from the start to just prior to the end.
Did get a chance to find out just how out of practice I have been.

Zoub and bigcraig getting in some hand gun practice on soggy targets.

soggy gear and weapons. Everything got a thorough soaking.

Water literally ran out of some of the firearms when we set up this pic.

I'll let Zoub caption this one as I dont want to offend anyone here  Cheesy

Choose from any of these:

Zoub keeps his word to a friend and once again unleashes his softer side through his man flowers.

Practice like you shoot  (yes I WILL be wearing them Friday at FNS)

Hey, they are synthetic just like my shirt, so they are already dry.  Nothing else in the pics are.

When I was given those flowers back in late 2006, I swore I WOULD TAKE them everywhere I went in 2007.  I kept my word and decided to keep the tradition going in 2008.  They have been from the Headwaters of the Mississippi to the Dismal swamp of VA.  They have been fishing, hiking, camping, boating, shooting, hunting.  Help make some new memories and bring some smiles ot friends, both old and new.  What I realized the other day is I had never used them in Indiana!  (or in the bed)

Now they helped mark a new tradition, The Soggy Bottom range trip.  I have never shot with my hands quite so wet.  Today was good for the soul.  All my gear is in the garage.  After I get back from my workout, I will be busy.  I am still trying to figure out why Craig never put his coat on?  But he bought breakfast so he earned the right not to be questioned.

I say we give our little group some purpose.  We will have to decide what that is, but I have a few ideas.

FYI, I shot every gun there except the one I am holding, adn that silly ass bat winged shotgun of Craigs!

Dammit, I knew you were going to make fun of my shotgun.

I have already removed one of the shell carriers.  Embarrassed

Oh crap man, I am laughing so now I am coughing again.

If I had my old Batman helmet from 1968 I would have given it to you, so you could wear it when you shoot that thing.

Simple rule:  Shotguns don't fly, they shoot things that do.

Craig don't let him raz you too much you'll need all the extra shells for the Zombie invasion.  Wink

Sorry we missed you at the range. You and Nick would have had a great time with these guys.
I will try to give you a bit more of heads up before the next trip, Hopefully it won't be a "Soggy bottom" ........... You know I'm thinking that would be a good name for a annual shoot.. The 1st annual soggy bottom shoot, Has a nice hillbilly ring to it doesn't it!?  Tongue

"Soggy Bottom Shoot" !!!! Perfect for Martinsville!!! Grin

How did you like the range improvements? Pretty nice since last years shoots, huh? The extra $$ I send every year I endow to the range facilities. They have really done a nice job and we try to keep it clean and maintained.

My "bottom" was one of the few things that did not have water running out of it when I got home.  I see this name sticking, it could even become an inner circle within the club.

The ranges are nice, but from now on we bring tarps.  I get anal about picking up the brass but I am getting too old for crawling on rocks.  Once Ron invents his laws of nature defying MAGENTICBRASSARATORPICKERUPPERTHINGY, then we can skip the tarps.

And we all know that it's what is loaded in the MAG that counts.  I keep mine filled with hot loads.

I am not an old school BS'er who thinks length/velocity & frangibility kills.  It is all about load selection and transference of Ft/lbs to the target baby!

Isn't it the other way around, short guy gets the long gun?
